Medicare Members to Receive New Cards

New Medicare member cards will be mailed to all our Plan G and Plan H participants in December.  The cards will go into effect January 1, 2006.  It is important to present your new card at both hospital and doctor office visits.  The back of the card contains new billing instructions for providers.  Not following those instructions could result in a delay in their reimbursement.  Wabash contracts with CMS to pay all primary claims for outpatient services to all providers so they don't have to bill Medicare.  By doing so, a provider will likely receive their full payment two months faster than billing Palmetto first.  Do them a favor by asking that all claims be sent directly to Wabash as instructed on your new card.
