                                            Get The Word Out

It was recently announced that Railroad retirees enrolled in GA-23111 Plan D will soon lose their drug coverage and be reassigned to Plan F (same as D but with no drugs). As an option, we encourage consideration of the following information. NS retirees and their spouses are eligible to join Wabash for their Medicare supplemental coverage and save money. Monthly costs are compared below. Spouses may only join our Basic plan at $102 which also leaves them open to get their meds through a Part D commercial plan.

                                                                                                                        Health Care                Wabash
                         Basic Medicare Supplemental                                                     $155                          $102
                         Medicare Supplemental (Retiree)
with $750 annual drugs                                                       Not Available               $147

Wabash gives the Railroad Retiree the option of choosing our low cost Basic Plan with no drugs or our upgraded plan which includes drugs. Those choosing the Basic plan have the option of purchasing the Medicare Part D plan from others for their pharmacy needs. Our upgrade Plan with drugs costs less than their Plan without drugs. Our Basic Plan includes a free discount card for prescription medication.

                                                                      Medicare Member Handbooks
Waiting for the CMS (HCFA) review of our new Medicare Member Handbook has created a delay in its mailing. We appreciate your patience and encourage you to call your Personal Claim Representative at 1-888-800-9161 with any questions on benefits or coverage. Although unpredictable, we hope to be able to mail the new Handbooks by early August.
