                               Following The Flag To Flu Clinics

Members of the Wabash staff took the Wabash Flu Clinic 'on the road' this fall to facilitate the administration of flu shots to as many in our Wabash family as possible.  A final count shows that 365 members took advantage of this service.   The Wabash goal, as always, is to find cost effective methods to serve as many members as possible.  A decision will be made in March if the service will be repeated in 2007.  Factored into that decision will be our 'cost per dose administered' and the amount of positive feedback from those participating in the 2006 Flu Clinic.  Special thanks to all the contact people, volunteers and nurses who helped launch this service to Wabash members.   Free flu shots were given to Wabash members in the following locations:

                                              NS Medical Department Cooperates with Wabash

Norfolk Southern physician, Dr.  Paula Lina, promoted flu shots to NS employees in the October NS Newsbreak. The NS Medical Department and Superintendents in Lafayette, St. Louis (Luther Yards) and Decatur helped make that possible.  111 railroaders took advantage of this convenience by participating in space provided by NS.  Some stated that they would not have received the vaccine if they had to take time to go to their doctor's office.  They were attracted to this free Wabash service by the convenience of having it at their work place.  Kudos to NS for  helping us make this happen.
